The Weird O' It by Clive Pemberton (First Edition)
Authors: Clive Pemberton
Location: London
Publisher: Henry J. Drane
Date: 1906
Edition: First Edition
Features: Title page dated 1906. Red cloth with gilt lettering and floral design; edges rough trimmed. 279 pp. Collection of ten weird stories. Red variant binding, was also printed with gale green and cream bindings. No known priority. "One of the rarest collections of weird fiction from the early years of this century. Extravagant and powerful tales of horror in the "raw heads and bloody bones" type, the stories of Clive Pemberton are most properly considered among the antecedents of the "Weird Tales" traditions. Ghastly monsters, reanimated corpses and blood-curdling tales of terrible vengeance from beyond the grave"
Book Condition: Good: A copy with moderate wear to spine cloth and spine edges; bumping to corners. Rubbing and fading to cover. Rear hinge starting. Mild foxing throughout. No jacket present.
Notes: Henry J. Drane produced books in very small print run editions and it is likely that there would have only been around 300 copies of this book originally. It has been suggested that there are three variants of the book known. Copies exist in red, pale green and cream cloth although priority is not known.
