Krenkel is one of two RGK Estate Copies, captivating in leather, gilt edged, suede slip-cased glory. This copy, B, contains, in addition to the plate called for in this volume, 4 extra mounted plates by Roy G. Krenkel spaced throughout the book. Enclosed as well is an original drawing laid in loosely, titled "A Song to Tame the Savage Beasts", initialed by the artist. All mounted plates are original art, with the exception of the bookplates. The first major collection of the fantasy artist's work in 20 years, profusely illustrated with over 250 illustrations and photos that provide a rich overview. Edited by J. David Spurlock, known for his 25 years of commercial illustration, art direction and editing, and a recognized Pop Art and illustration historian who has served as President of the Dallas Society of Illustrators, and Barry Klugerman, a graduate of Pratt Institute School of Fine Arts and co-founder with James Warhola of Elf in Light Press, producers of limited edition prints of children's book and illustration subjects. A Historian and author of articles on British & American illustration and advisor to Illustration House Gallery in New York. Klugerman lives in New York City.
