The Mummy and Miss Nitocris by George Griffith (Colonial Edition) Scarce
Authors: George Griffith
Location: London
Publisher: T. Werner Laurie
Date: 1906
Features: Pictorial green cloth with Colonial Edition on back cover, 312 pages. Colonial editions were produced to appear distinctive, in order to market them as reliable series of quality, and to prevent them being sold in the United Kingdom, where new novels cost at least twice as much per title as in the colonies. They were a cornerstone of the book trade to South Africa between the South African War (1899–1902) and World War One (1914–1918). "Romance with a tinge of occultism; a mixture of science-fictional and supernatural motifs. * England, with a flashback to ancient Egypt" (Bleiler).
Book Condition: Good: Bumping and rubbing to corners and spine ends, with fading to covers and spine. Front free end page missing.
