They were published by the Dutch Society for Sexual Reform which was created in 1946 and continues in its mission to further the sexual emancipation of individuals and the improvement of sexual conditions in the Netherlands. This society, which at one point was the only source of condoms in the Netherlands, works to improve the availability of good contraception and abortion services, informative sex education at all levels of education, and equality for men and women. The magazine touched on such topics as the acceptance of homosexuality, the dangers of beauty standards on women, breast cancer, human rights, and police violence.
