Two Typed Signed Letters by Arthur Train to George Haven Putnam, publisher at G.P. Putnam's Sons, who participated in various social and civic causes and followed his father's efforts in relation to copyright protection for authors. He organized in 1887 the American Publisher's Copyright League, and it is in this capacity that Arthur Train is first seeking his assistance, and then thanking him for his quick action. Both letters on Arthur C. Train's legal letterhead, 27 William Street, New York City, Representing the Authors League of America and the Society of Authors in London.
Arthur Train was an American lawyer and writer of legal thrillers, particularly known for his novels of courtroom intrigue and the creation of the fictional lawyer Mr. Ephraim Tutt.
The letters are dated February 10th and 17th 1914.
Condition: Very Good:Â Both letters with typical folds, tears at corners with some loss, puncture holes in one letter along with pencil markings
