Frank Gruber was a tremendously Prolific and popular Pulp writer who successfully made the transition from the pulps to Televison and Movies as a screen writer. He wrote for most of the pulp magazines including Black Mask. He created Detective series characters such as Oliver Quade "the Human encyclopedia", Simon Lash Private detective and johnny Fletcher amongst others. He was also very prolific in the western pulps.
