Blue cloth-bound boards, spine stamped gilt. Dust Jacket and brick-red paper-covered slipcase. Hodgson, to protect his U.S. copyright, carefully rewrote, revised and reorganised his classic, massive novel, THE NIGHT LAND, into "The Dream of X", and combined it with thirteen of his poems. This new version he had printed in New York in 1912 by R. Harold Paget in paper wrappers. It was a small edition and may never have been commercially distributed. This, Grant 1977 edition, includes a new introduction by Sam Moskowitz who rediscovered the rewritten story fifty years later. No word changes were made by Moskowitz or the publisher. The only additions being the many wonderful interpretive illustrations of Stephen E. Fabian.
Interior Artist: Stephen E. Fabian, 14 color plates, illustrated endpapers, and a variety of designs and devices.
