Signed by the Author and the Artist and inscribed to Hungarian Conductor Fritz Reiner and his actress wife, Carlotta with a drawing in purple ink by both Elaine & Willy Pogany. Pictorial boards with cloth spine. 15 color illustrations and many in black and white.

Willy Pogany was a Hungarian artist best known for his pen and ink fantasy illustrations, children's book illustrations and Art Neuvae style. In 1934, Willy married writer Elaine Cox with whom he collaborated on the children's story Peterkin.  

Fritz Reiner was a well-known Hungarian conductor of opera and symphonic music. He is best known for his work with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra through the 1950s and early 60s.
