Anne Bachelier's universe is a fantastic world where her surprising kingdoms are inhabited by fanciful and strange characters of an extraordinary beauty.
Her enchanting creatures' hairstyles and clothes are inspired by the medieval times and painted with skill and finesse. Lines, of an extreme delicacy,
drawn with both a lot of freedom and a mastered strength , are like the threads of a dream to be caressed,
and truly mark the dreamlike and almost mystical style of Anne Bachelier's works. -
Anne Bachelier (1949) was born in Louvigne du Desert, France, and received her degree from the Ecole des Beaux Arts, La Seyne-Sur-Mer between 1966 and 1970. The art of Anne Bachelier is exhibited in museums and private collections throughout Europe and North America. The Artist is widely accepted as a master of line, detail and profundity. She is a challenging artist who draws the viewer into the story of each painting. Metamorphosis, transition, and evolution provide the common threads of the art of Anne Bachelier. The artist captivates her audience with compelling, highly imaginative images that are distinct, unique, inventive and immediately recognizable. Her metaphysical, dream-like fantasies evoke feelings simultaneously powerful, peaceful, and protective. This unique “other” world, untouched by time or place, reminds the viewer of the eternal dance of transformation and regeneration. The Art of Anne Bachelier is on permanent exhibition at AFA in New York City, New Orleans, and at the Chateau Belcastel in France.
